Penang Chendol

Thinking about a hot December afternoon when we sat at a table along an alleyway in Penang and ate/drank sweet, icy bowls of Penang chendol...

... and a few other delicious things.

Burgertime

A couple of photos taken earlier this year on a quiet Sunday, when I had lunch with my parents at our go-to burger place, Relish.

The last few weeks have been a bit crazy for me, work-wise, but things are slowly going back to normal and I'll be back soon with some new film photos & a proper post!

Wimbly Lu

My friends introduced me to this dessert cafe a few months ago and I couldn't help admiring its cosy, classy decor. Wish I'd snapped more photos! I can't remember exactly which desserts we ordered, just that everything was really chocolaty, so I'll let the photos do the talking:

Some good stuff I came across recently:
Intricate pencil lead sculptures by Dalton Ghetti (Charlie Bowater)
Top Notch Type 17 - this whole series is worth checking out (Emmadine)
Art collective Kut changes the weather in Latvia (Booooooom)
Type illusions by Stephen Doyle + a behind the scenes video (Jason Santa Maria)

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

snow day

wednesday was a snow day! in the afternoon i spent half an hour looking out of my window, just watching the snow fall, quietly, furiously, beautifully. photos don't do it justice at all.

delectable pancakes

it snowed heavily again that night, so we hid in a cosy little cafe in anam that serves pancakes. their banana pancakes were scrumptious, but their chocolate pancakes were heavenly! each bite is full of drippy dark chocolate that melts in your mouth. i couldn't take a photo because we ate them up so quickly! this definitely goes on my 'things to eat again before i leave korea' list.

yay, the weekend is here! 주말을 잘 보내세요~

korea: food

good food abounds in korea! from the top: 1)kimbap, which is quickly becoming a staple of my diet, 2)street food and 3)cold noodles (the bits in the soup are ice!). most of the food here contains LOTS of vegetables, which is good, and can be really spicy!

i've been busy settling into school but things are gradually falling into place. i'll be taking korean classes everyday while i'm here, which is exciting and a little scary.
